The minor arcana consists of 56 cards. They are divided into 4 suits or trumps and are numbered from Ace to King.

The minor arcana represent the day-to-day events and circumstances that occur in our general lives to make the larger, significant events happen. They are the effects that culminate to make a story. The pieces in the puzzle that tie it all together.

Module 3- The Major Arcana

The major arcana comprises of 22 cards that become the theme of a reading in the tarot. These cards have significant meaning and symbolism. From an energetic standpoint, they are the causes when it comes to the causes and effects of life. When doing a reading, a lot more precedence is needed for the major arcana as it signifies the ‘big’ events or circumstances. The major arcana has a lot of complexity to it that allows the meanings of the cards to be applied to various circumstances, in synergy and conflict with surrounding cards.

The term Arcana is the magickal secrets that are contained within; these ‘secrets’ or knowledge can be unlocked with energy, and this is what makes the tarot such a powerful medium.

When looking at a major arcana card, it is important to feel and trust the intuitive messages coming through.
