Bog and Balls
Hi, it’s Mindy from Wheel and the World. Today we’re going to be cooking a really fun recipe and we call it Bog and Balls. And that sounds a little bit funny but it basically is a play on spaghetti bolognese or spaghetti bog and meatballs. We actually love this in our family, the kids love it, it’s quite a rich entertainment type dish. It’s a Sunday in our house, we have extra kids coming tonight, you know my son’s girlfriend will be here so we like to cook up a bit of a storm and it’s something that is very versatile as well.

Ingredients
500 grams of pork mince
1 kilo of beef mince
Salt and pepper
2 cloves of garlic
2 eggs
3/4 cup of polenta
1/2 cup of milk
1 tablespoon of beef stock powder
Dried Italian herbs basil, oregano, parsley, tomato flakes, paprika flakes, dried chili
Instructions
Mix all the ingredients together by hand to ensure a good consistency and flavor. Roll the meat mixture into large balls, about 3cm in size. These meatballs are packed with flavor and will be steamed using the Magimix cook expert.
Steaming the Meatballs
The Magimix cook expert comes with an XXL steamer attachment that can hold up to 5 and a half litres of food, making it perfect for big families. The meatballs will be steamed for 40 minutes to ensure they are cooked through and tender.
Preparing the Bolognese Sauce
While the meatballs are steaming, we’ll prepare the bolognese sauce using the Magimix. Here’s what you’ll need for the sauce:
Garlic
Capsicum
Onions
Celery
Carrot
Olive oil
Italian herbs
Tinned tomatoes
Passata (arrabbiata for extra zest)
Balsamic vinegar
Tomato paste
Beef stock powder
The veggies and garlic are sautéed in the Magimix before adding the remaining ingredients to create a rich and flavorful bolognese sauce. The meat that was left from making the meatballs is added to the sauce to cook down and add even more flavor.
Steaming the Meatballs and Serving
Once the sauce is prepared, the meatballs are placed on top of the sauce in the XXL steamer attachment and steamed for an additional 25 minutes. After steaming, the meatballs are served over the bolognese sauce for a delicious and hearty meal.
